An elite group of high school seniors have earned an opportunity to have a remarkable experience and we need your help to make it happen. The St. Joseph-Ogden High School Constitution Team is continuing a proud tradition and seeking out even bigger challenges at the national level in the month ahead.
On January 13th the team finished second in the Illinois “We the People: Citizen and the Constitution” State Finals held at Chicago Kent Law School. We are excited to make a return to in-person competition April 22-24 in Washington D.C. This experience has the potential to dramatically shape the lives and career choices of the young women and men that participate. We are proud to represent you and this community.
Our student body is always up for competing with the best......this is an opportunity that we can't miss. As my students testify before expert judges and law professors, defending their arguments under intense scrutiny, they are engaging in civics education in a manner that is creating leaders of tomorrow. Your assistance is key to assure that SJO has the opportunity to showcase their skills on the national stage.
I would love to answer any and all questions that you have about the finals or the “We the People” program in general. My students are certainly eager to share their perspective as well. Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
