Congratulations to the SJO Dance team! For the 1st time in school history, the Spartans advanced to the IHSA Dance Finals this past Saturday! Way to go Spartans!
Congratulations to the SJO Varsity Scholastic Bowl team. The Spartans, led by Captain Kaleb Peoples, won the Illini Prairie Conference tournament championship on Saturday with wins over BCC, Pontiac, IVC, Monticello and PBL.
FIVE Spartans from the SJO Wrestling team advanced to IHSA Wrestling Sectionals on Saturday! Congrats to Ben Wells, Nathan Daly, Coy Hayes, Vance McComas, & Cam Wagner! SJO finished in 3rd place overall as a team! Good luck Spartans!

InterState Studios will be here to take golf, marching band and color guard, and retakes on Tuesday, October 28. Golf will take pictures at 7:45am in the practice gym. Marching Band and Color Guard pictures will be taken during 1st period. Retakes will start during 2nd period. Anyone who did not get their picture taken on the original picture day, or would like to retake their picture should get their picture taken. A visitation and celebration of life is taking place to honor Garry Gannon, Vietnam Veteran, at Freese Funeral Home on Friday night. There will be Military Honors conducted as part of the services that are expected to take place at 7:00 PM, which includes a 21 gun salute rifle volley. This is right around kickoff time of the Unity vs. SJO football game. Because of the proximity to the football field and parking lot the Military Honors will likely be heard at the game. We are communicating this in hopes to prevent people from being alarmed by the rifle volley.

The All Athletic Parent Meeting will start at 6:30 PM in the SJO auditorium on Monday, August 11th. We hope to see all parents and athletes at this meeting. We will handout the All Athletic Fundraiser packets to parents and students at the end of this meeting. Remember, this is the only athletic fundraiser during the 2025-2026 school year. All athletes need to sell all 18 of their tickets at $20 apiece. There are 10 different drawing dates throughout the school year, which means there will be 70 winners from this fundraiser. We are excited for fall sports to officially start on Monday, August 11th. Good luck Spartans!
